Junior kindergarten to Grade 12 students in Bluewater District School Board were invited to participate in Student Demographic Census 2022 - “Your Voice Matters!” from April 19 to May 13, 2022.  Results from the voluntary questionnaire are intended to help inform the board's ongoing important work in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusive education through the following goals:
  • better understand student populations and school communities;
  • identify and eliminate barriers to student success, inclusion, and well-being; and
  • establish effective programs and reallocate resources to where they are needed most.
There were 1,553 elementary students and 1,671 secondary students who participated in the census.  As this represents a relatively small sample of Bluewater District School Board's overall population of approximately 18,000 students, board staff will be exploring future opportunities to further engage students with the goal of soliciting a broader sampling of respondents.  In the meantime, the following results are being shared publicly for informational purposes, and to provide some preliminary data based on those who responded to the census.
